Wondering about medical mask exemptions?

We at Partners in Pediatrics, after careful assessment of the data and
recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
American Academy of Pediatrics, Children’s Hospital Colorado and
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment are strictly
adhering to a mask-wear policy for children. We understand that mask
wear may be a concern for some parents, and that you care about your
child. So do we!

At this time, we are following the recommendation of the American
Academy of Pediatrics regarding mask-wearing, which states
the following:
“Face masks can be safely worn by all children 2 years of age and older,
including the vast majority of children with underlying health conditions,
with rare exception.”

Example: A rare exception might be a child with severe physical
disabilities.

Aside from that example, we will not be writing medical mask
exemptions.

We thank you for your understanding. We’ll all get through this together!
