Each year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sets the U.S. childhood immunization schedule based on recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).

The ACIP immunization schedule as well as the catch-up immunization schedule have also been approved by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).

As partners in your child’s care, we will review at each well care visit vaccine preventable illnesses and the vaccines that are recommended for your child. We will answer your questions and listen non-judgmentally to you as we discuss your preferences. We firmly believe in the ACIP’s evidence-based guidelines, and recommend that parents adhere to them. While we strongly support the Center for Disease Control/American Academy of Pediatrics’s vaccine schedule, we are willing to work with you on an alternative schedule. Should you decline a vaccine we are recommending, you will be required to sign a waiver confirming your understanding and preference.
