PIP Is Now Offering Telemedicine!

PIP is now offering telehealth visits for select visits. These “virtual” visits will be conducted using Zoom that enables video and audio conferencing and is HIPAA compliant. Telehealth type visits will include ADHD checks, medication checks for depression and anxiety and some mild illness such as upper respiratory infections, vomiting and diarrhea, some rashes or other mild illnesses. We can also use telehealth to assess your child if you have a concern about him or her having a COVID-19 related issue and whether or not they need to seek medical attention in-person.

At this time, we are not offering telehealth visits for well care. Given some limitations around telehealth, we may still require in-office visits after a telehealth visit if your provider deems it necessary to follow the standard of medical care and to continue to provide excellent care for your child. We will not be prescribing antibiotics over telehealth. Telehealth visits will be billed to your insurance. Call us today to see if we can accommodate a telehealth visit for your child! In addition, some telephone advice and portal interactions can also now be billed to your insurance. We hope you understand that during these challenging times these changes are necessary for the health of our practice. We are doing all we can to ensure that PIP will always be there for you now and for years to come!

Coming to PIP for well care visits is still recommended, but especially if your child needs vaccines. We continue to see only well visits in the mornings, sick visits in the afternoon and we are cleaning extra. When you come into our office you will notice that all providers and staff members in patient care areas are wearing masks. This is in line with recommendations from health departments as an extra precaution to keep all of us and YOU safe and healthy.

We hope you will heed the advice to “stay at home” and minimize your trips and contacts. We know it has been hard to stay at home during this pandemic, but doing so really will help us slow the spread of this virus and allow medical services to keep up with the demand for those who need it most.

In good health,
